Welcome to Rokeby and Mitcham!

WELCOME TO ROKEBY AND MITCHAM!

Teachers: Jackie Proudman & Kelsie Laing

Dear Parents/Caregivers

Hello and welcome to Rokeby and Mitcham for 2016!

We hope everyone has had an enjoyable, well deserved break and are ready for a busy first term back at Methven Primary. We are both really excited about the coming year and are looking forward to working with all of the awesome children in Rokeby and Mitcham.

We have decided to create this blog to give the families of the children within our class the opportunity to see all of the fantastic learning we will be doing throughout the year. Blogger is really simple to use and eventually, we hope to teach the children how to post their own work to the blog.

Our blog will have photos of the children engaging in collaborative and individual tasks, activities children have been working on, ways in which you can help your child at home, and notices/reminders.

We would love if you could take the time to navigate your way around the blog, look at what has been shared and every now and then comment on some of the posts. The children love sharing their work and this is one way of doing so.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to get in contact with either of us.

Jackie Proudman - jproudman@methven.school.nz

Rokeby Teacher (Yr 1):
Kelsie Laing - klaing@methven.school.nz

This year we are teaching both classes collaboratively. With one week done and dusted, this is working really well and we are loving getting to know, and working with all of the children in our room.

In Rokeby/Mitcham we like to encourage the children to be:

  • MPS STARS  (Sporting, Trustworthy, Accepting and Responsible).
  • Risk-takers
  • Able to work collaboratively
  • Life-long learners

Thank you to everyone who took the time to come in and meet us at the parent/teacher conferences, it was great to put a face to the name and to have a quick chat!

Please feel welcome to come in at any time and see what we are doing in Rokeby and Mitcham. We love to have visitors!
