Wow! What an amazing, action packed Term 1 it has been! Mrs P and I are so proud of how all of you have worked over the past 11 weeks! We hope you have a fantastic and well deserved break and we look forward to seeing all of your beautiful faces in Term 2! :)

ANZAC DAY LEARNING
Today we had a big day of learning all about ANZAC day. First we had some sharing about special people in our lives that have been in the Army or fought in WWI/WWII. We worked in our cooperative groups and moved around different stations. We coloured in pictures, wrote stories, baked ANZAC biscuits, painted poppies, made poppies and read poems. We were lucky enough to have some of the year 6 girls and Rachel come and help us!

Visiting Hannah's Workshop
Today we were incredibly lucky to get to go and visit Hannah's (Gus's mum) workshop! We looked at all of the amazing things she has been making. We also looked at the materials she used to make her structures. Thanks so much for letting us visit you Hannah, we were truely blown away by your talent!!

Elgregoe Stories
I liked when Elgregoe made the Cheetah sing inside the box. It was so funny. I liked his tricks they were cool as. That was my favourite part.

Elgregoe is a magician and he made a bird come out of a picture. I really like him because it sounded like the Cheetah made the noise.

I saw Elgregoe on the stage. He was very funny and amazing! My favourite was the Cheetah. He sung a song and he did it very loud. I laughed. Elgregoe lit a fire and a bird came out of the fire. It was a real bird, not a toy.

Wow!! We had such a busy day yesterday
We have been SUPER busy in Rokeby and Mitcham lately! Here are some pictures of what we got up to yesterday! Rokeby was really lucky and got to visit the Junior Hub in the morning to do lots of fun learning!
Mr Murphy had a turn in the Dizzy Giddy!
Using the Numicon shapes in the play dough, then we counted how many dots we had!

EXPO Thanks
A huge thank you to all of our wonderful parents who helped and supported the Rokeby/Mitcham Children and Kelsie and I to get things organised for the EXPO. It was fantastic and we really appreciated it!!
The children were delighted to see that all of our items (bar the pencils which we will use in the class) sold and we even have people who want us to make more hair ties. It was lovely to see so many of the MPS students sporting the black and red hair ties at school yesterday and today.
The cake walk was a huge success. THANK YOU to the mums who made the "Very Fancy Cakes" for this. WOW they looked stunning and there was heaps of positive feedback from people at the Expo. Many people said we should have had more cakes.
Kelsie and I are very proud of our students who planned, organised and worked very hard on our stall and activities. One of the main objectives of having the Expo was that the students had ownership of it. Our students did :-).
Feedback (both positive and negative) on all aspects of the Expo is welcome. No doubt there are things that we could do better.
So, well done Rokeby/Mitcham Monkeys you are all MPS STARS!!!!!

Not One, Not Two BUT Three New Babies
Wow, what an exciting time for the Rokeby and Mitcham family. In 2 days we had 3 new babies born. 3 little boys. We would all like to welcome these 3 very beautiful (and much loved by their big brothers and sister,) babies. Well done to the mum's and dad's.
Terina and Daniel with their new baby brother. Terina knows exactly how to hold him.
Benjamin is a very proud and excited big brother.
Levi was soo excited to have a baby brother he wrote this wonderful story all by himself.
I'm going to teach my baby brother everything I learn. His name is Samuel and his short name is Sam and I'm going to teach Sam to count 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20... I'm going to read Sam books ... and I'm going to play ... and he is my best baby brother ever.

The children are all looking forward to these baby boys coming in to our class so we can see how perfect they are. We have lots of questions to ask about how you look after little babies.
